Digital Badges

Digital Badges are new credential types that allow you to show specific skills gained through learning experiences. Once you earn a badge, you may use it however you wish. Digital badges can be put on social media sites such as LinkedIn, added as a link on your digital resume, and embedded in your e-portfolio. 

ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÖ·´óÈ« offers three micro-credentials to help prepare you for the workforce: Job Keeping, Job Readiness, and Job Seeking.

We can assist you in seeking an internship with local companies and organizations. From search tips and resume development to applications and interviewing, we can guide you from start to finish in finding an internship that can last for the summer, an entire semester, or longer.

What is an internship?

An internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student’s field of study or career interest that typically lasts 1-3 months. Internships provide students opportunities for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills.

What to look for in a quality internship

  • A part-time or full-time work schedule that includes no more than 25% clerical or administrative duties
  • A clear job/project description for the experience
  • Orients the intern to the organization, its culture and proposed work assignment(s)
  • Helps the student develop and achieve learning goals
  • Offers regular feedback to the student intern

First to Finish Mentorship Program

Are you a first-generation student? First to Finish is for you!

If you are the first in your immediate family to attend college, you are a first-generation student. As you navigate your college experience, you will likely face unique challenges and obstacles. Our First to Finish mentors want to be there to help you succeed.

The First to Finish program provides first-generation students with:

  • Resources to support your educational and career goals
  • Events designed specifically for you
  • Connections with other first-generation students
  • Mentorship from first-generation faculty and staff

Professional Clothing Closet

The Professional Clothing Closet, operated by ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÖ·´óÈ« Career Services, provides a way for students to access free professional attire appropriate for job fairs, interviews, and the workplace. Our goal is to help students look their best and feel confident throughout their job search so they can make a positive impression as they transition to a professional environment.

How It Works

  • Hours are by appointment only
  • Bring a valid ÁùºÏ²ÊÍøÖ·´óÈ« Student ID
  • Students may take (and keep) up to four individual apparel items per semester
  • Availability of all sizes and types of items cannot be guaranteed
  • To be eligible for the Clothing Closet, students must utilize at least one of the following services provided by Career Services:
    • Resume Critique
    • Mock Interview
    • Career Assessment
    • Workshop attendance
    • Event attendance
